Drew blood for intake labs to UM

PCV and TS was within normal limits for this species based on data found in the 3rd edition of Raptor Medicine, Surgery, and Rehabilitation by David. E Scott.

Also based on information found in the same book, 014's lead levels are not high enough to be diagnostic for lead poisoning nor is it showing abnormailities.

Based on values found in the 3rd edition of Raptor Medicine, Surgery, and Rehabilitation, 2024-014's has an elevated AST, decreased UA, and elevated BA. The serum also had a yellow appearance. This could indicate liver disease in the pateint possibly form being emaciated or the elevated AST could be due to inflammation as seen during the patient's ocular exam.

The beta globulins are increased and reflective of acute inflammation. Moderate to marked increases in this fraction can be observed with nephritis, hepatitis, dermatitis, and mycotic infection. Increases may also be observed with sarcocystosis and chronic chlamydiosis as well as mycobacteriosis. Specific beta globulin proteins are also increased in egg laying birds. Followup EPH may have prognostic value for this case.

BCS: 1

Problem list: 1. Loss of vision and hyphmea in right eye

4. Low body condition score
Diagnosis: 1. Trauma and loss of vision in the right eye
2. Possible lens luxation in the left eye
3. Roughened fetaher and missing tail feathers
4. Uncer conditioned (emaciated)
Assessment: History states that the pateint is a suspected hit by car but no abnormailites was noted on physcial exam. Following the evuluation of the eyes, 014's vision has decreased and further evaulation is needed to determine if the left eye is visual enough to support normal function in this patient along with the right eye needing evulation for discomfort in the patient. The low body condition score and damaged fetahers indictaed that 014 has had chonic issues that have affcted its ability to thrive. The damaged/missing feathers will need ot be replaced if the patient is able to be released in the future.
