Drew blood for intake labs to UM PCV and TS was within normal limits for this species based on data found in the 3rd edition of Raptor Medicine, Surgery, and Rehabilitation by David. E Scott. Also based on information found in the same book, 014's lead levels are not high enough to be diagnostic for lead poisoning nor is it showing abnormailities. Based on values found in the 3rd edition of Raptor Medicine, Surgery, and Rehabilitation, 2024-014's has an elevated AST, decreased UA, and elevated BA. The serum also had a yellow appearance. This could indicate liver disease in the pateint possibly form being emaciated or the elevated AST could be due to inflammation as seen during the patient's ocular exam. The beta globulins are increased and reflective of acute inflammation. Moderate to marked increases in this fraction can be observed with nephritis, hepatitis, dermatitis, and mycotic infection. Increases may also be observed with sarcocystosis and chronic chlamydiosis as well as mycobacteriosis. Specific beta globulin proteins are also increased in egg laying birds. Followup EPH may have prognostic value for this case.
